12th ed. COMER & COMER Psychopathology: Science and Practice (formerly Abnormal Psychology)
– Ch.4 “Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment”
Pilot for LearningMate, Inc. This textbook was given a heavy re-vamp, including a major title change; originally titled "Abnormal Psychology", substantive editorial feedback resulted in the text being renamed to "Psychopathology".
Chapter 4 specifically covered the DSM5 and the subject of Gender Dysphoria, migrated and recontextualized from its classification under “sexual disorders” in previous versions. Preference to non-binary language and representation of diverse family systems were corrective highlights for this text.
I also provided feedback on the role that culture and ethnicity play in mental health, and on ableist language and representation, especially as autism spectrum disorder is introduced in this version.

12th ed. BERGER The Developing Person Through the Lifespan (Developmental Psychology)
– Ch.14 “Adolescence: Biosocial Development”
Editorial work focused on addressing key developmental events and stages in adolescence. Traditional subjects such as Puberty, Sexual Maturation, and Nutrition were given updates to achieve more holistic terms and definitions for gender expression and sexual identity.
Content about peer pressure and experiences common among teens — such as drug and alcohol use, dieting, and contact with law enforcement — were edited for bias and stereotyping. By equitably addressing factors of risk-taking versus risk-seeking, and universalizing the issue of body image across shape, size, and gender, these corrections greatly increased the text's accessibility and value to its readers.
